Sun Chemical to Unveil New Aluminum Pigment Technology for Waterborne Coatings at European Coatings SHOW 2011
NUREMBERG, GERMANY − March 29-31, 2011 – During the European Coatings SHOW 2011, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments will showcase new encapsulation technology that stabilizes aluminum flake pigments for use in waterborne formulations.
An expansion of the SunMetallics® aluminum pigment product line, this heavy metal-free technology protects the aluminum flake with an optically transparent, uniform silicate layer, offering long term stability in waterborne coatings and excellent circulation stability.
“This new encapsulation technology provides outstanding stability in aqueous systems without detracting from the optical qualities of the aluminum flake,” said Aaron Hollman, Global Product Manager-Effects Pigments, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments. “We can now provide the metallic look that our customers desire in paint formulas which are inherently more environmentally-friendly.”
The encapsulation technology for waterborne systems, along with other products from the SunMetallics product line, will be on display at the European Coatings SHOW 2011 in Nuremberg, Germany on March 29-31 at Sun Chemical’s booth, located in Hall 10, Stand 117.
